Clinic Profile
Hong Kong International Medical Clinic of
Beijing was founded in June 1993. It was established as a joint
venture between China Ministry of Health and its Hong Kong partner.
It was Mr. Chen-Minzhang, the late former minister of China
Ministry of Health, who issued the first license for a joint
venture clinic in China to the Hong Kong International Medical
Clinic (Beijing). This joint venture Clinic has excellent medical
skills, clean environment, and advanced management systems.
The Clinic is located inside the 5-star hotel Swissotel, which
is situated at No. 2 Chaoyangmenwai, Dongcheng District, Beijing.
Its clinical section is on the 9th floor while physical examination
for immigration is on the 3rd floor. It has a total area of
operations is 700 square meters, which include a spacious and
brightly-lit reception, several rooms for patient consultation,
observation room, laboratory, radiation room, pharmacy, and
surgery rooms. It mainly offers general medicine and oral medicine/dentistry,
and other specialties like internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics
and Gynecology, Pediatrics and others. The Clinic has over 70
professorial-level doctors and a group of highly trained and
skilled medical personnel. All medical staff come from either
the city?s famous hospitals or have returned from overseas. They have excellent professional
medical skills and offer 24-hour services, which are provided
in English, French and Japanese.
The Clinic has broad partnership and contacts with major hospitals
and specialty hospitals in the city. For patients needing to
be confined in a hospital or undergo a special check up, the
Clinic takes the responsibility to communicate and make arrangements
with the hospitals for the transfer and hospital confinement
or special check up. All these services are performed at high
level of quality.
Since the non-cash medical service partnership arrangement between
Hong Kong International Medical Clinic of Beijing and BUPA with
12 Japanese insurance companies in 1997, the Clinic has provided
high quality medical services to foreigners in Beijing. To date,
the partnership has grown to 31 Japanese insurance companies
and Allianz Worldwide, BUPA, HSBC. With China?s entry into WTO, the demand for domestic medical treatment has increased. The
Clinic is looking to expand its customer base, and to develop
